The Pluto September update
What a month. August and the beginning of September have been the start of a new chapter for us. And today especially is a proud day for us.
Our crowdfunding is open to the public
We talked a lot last month about why we’re crowdfunding. Raising money to grow the business of course. But the main reason, in a sentence, was that we want to build our business with our community, with the people that believe in what we’re doing and why we’re doing it.
We would love you to join us on our journey and help us to shake up this tired and broken industry. We love being transparent and sharing as much as we can about our business, so if you have any questions whatsoever, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Starting to make an impact
Summer is always a busy time for people going on holiday. But we’ve seen the interest in Pluto really grow and the number of people who trust us to take care of them whilst they’re away increased a lot in the last few months. We’ve seen the number of customers joining Pluto increase 50% month on month over the last two months.
We’re also flying high as well this month, literally, because we were covered in British Airways Business Life magazine. Available all through September. Talking about our journey so far and why we started the business.
Finally, we’ve also started to share stories from Pluto customers that have had something go wrong and we’ve been lucky enough to help them. It’s the reason you buy travel insurance after all. We think, hearing about the real stories reminds everyone why to get covered in the first place. You can see some of these stories on the rest of our blog and at the bottom of this email.
App-solutely, almost ready
We’ve alluded to the Pluto app a few times before and this month we’ve made lots of progress building it. We’re not quite ready yet, but you’ll be the first to know when we are. But, you can see some sneak peaks of what the app’s going to look like.
And, we also announced to the media earlier today that we’re going to be working with Babylon Health to provide all of our customers 24/7 access to a virtual UK GP wherever they are in the world. So instead of finding a local clinic, navigating the local language, you can just use your phone, in the comfort of your hotel and speak to a trusted UK doctor. Because it’s 2019 after all.
